Available Lexus Safety System+ Versions & Features
How does it work? Your car will have an advanced nerve center under the skin, connected through sensors like a radar system, camera, and integrated circuitry. On every commute to work or on your next out-of-state adventure, this powerful suite of technology features will work in tandem, monitoring your surroundings, interpreting a steady stream of data, and stepping in when necessary to help keep you safe.
One of the following four Lexus Safety System+ versions can come standard on your new Lexus.
Lexus Safety System+
The first Lexus Safety System+ variant comes standard on many pre-owned Lexus models from legendary years, including models like the 2020 Lexus GS. The track-ready 2022 Lexus RC F, the LC Hybrid, and the LC convertible also come standard with this system.
The standard suite begins with a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. If this feature determines that a collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian is imminent, it can provide a warning, prepare extra or automatic stopping power, and, in some models, even steer you clear.
Up next, the Lexus Safety System+ offers you a Lane Departure Alert, complemented by either Steering Assist or Lane Keep Assist. This grid of cameras prevents an incident – first with a noise, then with gentle guidance.
The next standard feature is Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, a feature that maintains a desired following distance from the vehicle ahead. Models with the High-Speed version must be traveling above 28 mph for the feature to activate, while models with the All-Speed version can use the feature even in stop-and-go conditions.
The Lexus Safety System+ also offers Intelligent High Beams to automatically switch between high and low beams when traveling at night.
Lexus Safety System+ 2.0
The Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is an evolution that builds on the features listed above. This evolution is popular on 2020 to 2021 Lexus models, like the 2021 Lexus NX, and upgrades your safety with elegant convenience functionality.
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection comes enhanced with Low-Light Pedestrian Detection and Daytime Bicyclist Detection for added confidence. You'll also find Lane Tracing Assist standard in the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0, as well as the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, to help keep you on track.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.5
The 2.5 version comes standard in many new models and evolves the system further. Specifically, when you build your new Lexus sedan, you'll find these third-generation safety features on the IS and ES.

For starters, the 2.5 version includes the Road Sign Assist system that was added in the 2.0 iteration, and it upgrades to Enhanced Lane Tracing Assist to provide even more stability. It comes standard with an Enhanced All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, allowing the vehicle to detect upcoming curves and adjust speed accordingly. Finally, you'll find an additional Left Turn Intersection Support module added to the standard Pre-Collision System, assisting you with detecting pedestrians and vehicles.
Lexus Safety System+ 3.0
This is the latest member of the Lexus Safety System+ family and is currently the most popular version of the suite on our new Lexus vehicles for sale. For example, when you tour a Lexus UX Hybrid, NX, RZ, RX, TX, GX, or LX, you'll have these updated functionalities available to test. As 2.5 did to 2.0, you'll find all of the previously mentioned features coming standard with this system, but with certain upgrades and added features to set it apart.
Kicking things off, the All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control feature receives a Curve Speed Management function, allowing the on-board nerve center to determine if you're on a twisty stretch of road and adjust your vehicle's speed to achieve the smoothest, most confident ride possible.
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection carries over the left-turn support. It gets a right-turn support function and front-to-front oncoming vehicle detection added on top of a Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist function. Maximize your peace of mind as you approach cruising velocity.
